RECOMMENDED CARB FORMULA

MATERIAL FORMULA
A.UF RIW CARB 100
B. WHEAT FLOUR 12-18
C. HD – PIW250 0.5 – 1.5

Note: The amount of HD also adjusts from the initial viscosity of the glue mix

MIXING PROCEDURE

CARB formula

Add resin and flour, mix until homogeneous for 5 – 10 minutes. Then add HD-PIW 250, mix until homogeneous for 3 – 5 minutes. Then gluemix is ready to use.

VENEER PREPARATION

  1. The surface of the veneer must be clean, flat and free from dust or gum/oil stains etc.
  2. The temperature of the veneer when it will be used is ensured below the temperature of 40oC
  3. Water content controlled:
    • for face/back : 8 – 10% ( low emission )
    • for cores : 8 – 12% ( low emission )
  4. Veneer with high water content will result in damage/bubbles if the temperature is high and the pressure is high.

 GLUE SPREADER

  • Number of vacations:

For refining on both faceback planes weighing 24 – 28 g/sqft and for thick veneer cores weighing 28 – 36 g/sqft. and see the surface roughness condition of the veneer .

  • “Wood with high density” the adhesive must be 10% more than “wood with a low density”.
  • assembly time is kept as short as possible. If it’s too long it can cause the glue to dry before hotpress (precure).

 COLD PRESSING / COLDPRESS

  1. After finishing the assembly, the material is immediately cold pressed. To prevent precure.
  2. Minimum pressure of 8.5 kg/cm 2 . For hardwoods such as meranti, the pressure must be at least 10 kg/cm 2 .
  3. Pressing time 40 – 60 minutes.

HOT PRESS / HOT PRESS

  1. After leaving coldpress , immediately in hotpress . The position of the plywood is reversed (the lower part is hot pressed first based on the initial assembly order )
  2. Minimum pressure of 8.5 kg/cm 2 . For hardwoods such as meranti, the pressure must be at least 10 kg/cm 2 .
  3. Hot pressing time for this product is 60 seconds /mm . Paste face/back 180 seconds
  4. Hotpress temperature 90 – 105 o C
